Hey guys. This thread will be here for anyone who wishes to bounce ideas off of each other in regards to anything that you feel will bring something positive to the league. The idea (which is not set in stone by any means but just an idea) would be that it would be similar to the offseason competition committee meetings in MLB, where if an idea for a new rule or add-on to the league picks up enough steam in here, it could be voted on in what would be an annual poll here in proboards. Please leave any feedback, both positive and negative. Of course, as with everything in this league, all final say lies with your hard working, open minded Commish.
Thanks, Frank-Royals

1. RULE 5 DRAFT: Year one was started with 25MLB and 15MiLB players compiling a 40 man roster, allowing the opportunity to add the Rule-5 draft in which all teams would choose 40 players to protect. The remainder would be open to be selected by any other team, but with the stipulation that that player must be kept on his new team's Major League roster and counted against salary cap of his new team. If at any point during the player's first season with his new team, his new manager wishes to demote him to his MiLB roster, he must first be offered back to his original team. If, and only if, the original team declines to take the player back (and place him on either MLB or MiLB roster), the new owner may demote the player to his MiLB roster. Year two reverts back to origianl contract rules with the player being allowed on either his new teams MLB or MiLB roster.

2. COMPENSATORY MiLB PICKS: All teams would be compensated for losing RFAs, Each team that loses an RFA would receive one compensatory pick in MiLB draft for each RFA signed away by another team.

Compensation picks should be sandwich picks and wont take away picks like the new CBA in baseball. And the rule 5 draft, you should not be able to take players that were just drafted in the New player draft even if they don't make your 40 man roster.

What about an Amnesty Clause kinda like the NBA where you can cut 1 bad contract without penalty and that player becomes a Free Agent but the team who cut him can not bid on him in free agency? Maybe instead of doing this every year, each team can use it once every 3 years or something like that?? Just a thought

Love this too but how do we decide what round the extra picks will be in? Maybe if you lose 1 RFA you get a pick at the end of the 5th, if you lose 2 RFA you get at end of 3rd and 5th and if you lose all 3 RFA you get at end of 1st, 3rd and 5th.

I'm working on the kinks of it but somehow we can sign FA during the season for longer than the 1 year 600k. Someone if you have any specific ideas please help me out on this.

Billy I'm not sure about that way becuase Josh Hamilton and Joe Kelly shouldn't get a 5th round pick. Compensation is good idea but he shouldn't be the worth the same as a rookie pitcher who filled in this year.

Minor League Eligibility
I think we should have a rule on minor league eligibility. The one problem that I can see in the future is having major league players on your minor league roster. For example, you could have 10 major league starters and keep rotating them from the majors to minors. I was looking today, and there is a way you can set minor league eligibility by games played, innings pitched, etc. I am thinking about using 50 innings pitched or 130 at bats for a player to be considered a major league player. If the players has been sent down to the minors in real life, then they could be sent down to the minors on your team as well.

Instead of a waiting period for objecting trades since no trade has been vetoed. I'm in another dynasty league and they have a trading committee, there's 5 teams including the commiss and every trade in our case would be posted on here and each team explains why they made the trade. Then the 5 committee teams either aprove or deny and explain why it was denied and then the commiss executes the trade on Fantrax the same day
