Each team will consist of 25 players. There will be 14 starting spots along with 11 bench players. You must have 25 players on your roster at all times. We will be using the real life contracts of players as of January 31st 2012. I will be posting all of the contracts and the team affiliates on 1/31. Your 25 man roster must be under the $150M cap at all times. You are responsible for keeping track of your roster and cap. I will periodically do audits of your teams roster and cap, and if it is above the cap, you will receive one warning, and your roster must be fixed immediately to get under the cap. If it isn't fixed within 3 days, you will face suspension for a week. If it still isn't fixed, your team will be suspended for the rest of the year, and you will be kicked out of the league. The starting positions are as follows
C 1B 2B SS 3B OF OF OF UTIL
SP SP RP RP

Question (a lot more detailed and rambling than I expected): Is 1/31/2012 the date we use as our roster date? Otherwords, can we add players that on the MLB rosters for both minors and majors AFTER 1/31/2012. Are we going to wait for the Rule 5, winter meetings, etc.. befroe we have a set roster date?
Example: If the Astors sign Prince on 12/25/2012 (not goin to happen), can the Astros owner claim him as one of his 5? Also, are FA going into FA pool, e.g. is Jose Reyes/Heat Bell a FA, Met(padre), or Marlin? Or do we wait until a certain date, 1/31/2011 then use rosters as of that date and everyone else is in the draft?

1/31/2012 is the roster date. That means that all of the current free agent signings occuring now will be on their current team. For example Jose Reyes will be on the Marlins team with his brand new contract. On 1/31/2012 I will send a spreadsheet of around 1200 players with their current contracts and teams they beloong to. At that time, everyone will need to review the spreadsheet, and choose only 5 from your current team that you want to keep. These will be on your team for the remainder of their real life contract. The other players that you choose not to keep will go into our draft that starts a week later. Anyone can draft these players, but must take their current major league contract. The draft will be a one time thing, and after that we will have free agent signings after the world series. For example anyone that will be a free agent in 2013 based on the spreadsheet, we will start the bidding process.
Let me know if this answers your question.

Is Rob back? Since we changed to daily matchups scoring adjusments had to be made. Pitchers were getting way too many points per outing. In case you want to look on Fantrax, you will see that pitchers still get an average of more daily points than hitters. All of this was sent out in an email probably 1 - 2 months ago. Not sure why it is coming up now.
