To all fans of the St. Louis Cardinals,
There comes a time when an organization has to make a decision on which direction to take the ball club. We could've just plodded along signing over priced players to long term deals but decided that that course of action would have pushed us over the fiscal cliff. Instead, we decided to purge ourselves of long bloated contracts and turn our focus on young talented ball players that could turn St. Louis into perennial winners for years to come. Our plan is to be full competitive in 2-3 years and hoist the World Series trophy in year 4. So please throw away those old outdated Holliday and Beltran jerseys and go get yourself a shiny new Taveras, D'Arnaud or Olt jersey to wear proudly for years to come.
